The Outdoor Education challenge: enriching the curriculum, inspired to learn.

At Warwickshire Education Authority we’re looking for school groups who are ready to take on the Outdoor Education challenge at our purpose built centre in North Wales.

Marle Hall is an 60 bed, outdoor adventure centre set in 35 acres of grounds. The centre occupies a superb location close to the mountains, lakes and rivers of Snowdonia within easy reach of rail and road networks.

The Outdoor Education challenge includes:young children sitting on a large rock

  • Half board accommodation for up to 60 young people and staff
  • Qualified and experienced adventure teaching staff
  • Curriculum based activities such as field studies for schools
  • Orienteering, team building and problem solving for groups
  • A wide range of adventure activities such as kayaking, canoeing, mountaineering, abseiling and gorge scrambling
  • Class room facilities equipped with I.T, scientific and geological equipment for schools
  • A bespoke adventure challenge allocating time for your group work
  • Meeting rooms for group work or evening activities

Getting involved is easy
Planning a school away week won’t take hours of your precious time. We provide a dedicated team to support the planning of your group’s Outdoor Education challenge. Each challenge is uniquely designed to meet your curriculum requirements and caters for the needs and abilities of your group.

Education and development for children and young people
Marle Hall tailor-made and pre-course visits are recommended. Courses fall into the following categories:
PSHE – Where multi activity weeks or weekends use adventurous activities to challenge and develop young people.

QAA – Where multi activity weeks or weekends introduce or progress outdoor skills from Key stage 2, GCSE, A Level to National Outdoor Leadership awards

Environmental Study – Key stage 2 to A Level. In Geography, Biology, History

Week special – Primary courses on a budget – autumn and spring only

How much will it cost?
Your school group can get away for as little as £130* per person per week or £60* per person per weekend.
